Gates of the Valley, Yosemite National ParkWe all know them. They are often called "iconic", or as QT Luong would say in his lovely French accent, "classique". They are the done-to-death locations and views here in Yosemite, such as Tunnel View or Gates of the Valley (pictured above). In Death Valley, it's Zabriskie Pt, or Badwater salt flats. Or the sliding rocks of Racetrack Plaza. I say go to it, do it again. Beat that dead horse, because it will build your photographic muscles. And sometimes, just sometimes, you will find the conditions are just so damn perfect you'll have to set up your tripod and take a shot, just like I did yesterday. Oh, oh, those gorgeous clouds!
